I love wearing sequins, but not those to be expected 'New Years Eve' heavy duty sequin cocktail dresses but rather daily 'just because' sparkle to glam up the daily casual look, be it a patch of sequin on cashmere or knit cardigan or a sequin pencil skirt paired with denim button up for the office and later evening on the town.
As someone who loves to mix casual and dressy pieces I was thrilled to see some gorgeous, red carpet worthy gowns but also some casual pieces like twin sets and sweatshirts and pants all sparkled up on Spring 2015 runway.
Two of the designer who played with sequin, prints, embroidery and colors are definitely Jenny Packham and Naem Khan.
JENNY PACKHAM is british designer known by her evening wear and bridal collections. She also designs accessories and lingerie. For Spring/Summer 2015. designer was inspired by one of the historically best known hollywood divas - Merilyn Monroe.
This seasons Packham's gowns were cut quite close to the body. She used sequin, print and embroidery brilliantly to flatter female body curves. I love how she reinvented little black dress by emphasizing neck and shoulder lines. My favorite casual pieces from this collection were bright yellow below the knee skirt and gorgeous floral print button up yellow maxi shirt dress.
NAEM KHAN is similarly to Peckhman ready-to-wear and bridal designer. Khan is originally from India and his family also worked in textiles, today he lives in US and his designs are worn to red carpet by many global celebrities and sold in Bergdorfs Goodman and Neiman Marcus among other luxurious store locations.
With SS 15' collection Naem went sporty but kept his bedazzling red-carpet worthy signature so we could have seen silk sweat pants, sequin, embroidery as well as crystal covered sweatshirts and t-shirts during his last week New York show. I am sure no-one will wear these to the gym but we might see celebrities coming to red carpet in glamed up sneakers and sweatshirts upcoming season! :)
How do you like my sparkly selection ladies? Can you see yourself going out in the evening in one of these glammed up sweatshirts? :)
