During recently finished Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb I had a pleasure to meet Mr.Victor de Souza and his young and creative team. Other than tremendous talent and obvious endless passion Victor has in his creative expression, for the short time I had a chance to spend with him partying in clubs in Zagreb I must say I was most impressed with his adorable personality, childlike appeal, modesty and friendly character which is why I felt instant fondness and bond with him, which is really unusual for people working in such a busy, competitive and sometimes shallow industry - Victor is just the opposite, with having special sensibility for corporate responsibility and giving back to the community.
Victor's creative, positive and driven team seems to have the right vision in mind when it comes to developing his name and his brand. With such a great celebrity following and larger than life personality, sky is the limit.
Last week in Zagreb on Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb we had the opportunity to see his romantic and sensual ready to wear collection for SS 2011. with couture detailing. The collection was made out of 24 evening wear pieces in wide range color pallet and variety of feminine siluetes of architectural design with comprehensive shoulder detailing - a modern dream of every fierce fashionista who is strong with her own view of the world but is also very gentle and passionate in her expression.
"Victor De Souza has totally shocked us!"

I haven't been writing blog posts in the past couple of days as I was working on Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb with my company being a main sponsor of the event. I must say, although I know I cannot be 100% objective as I am in a way part of the organizing team, that I am very pleased with changes this team has made this season.
I am very, very proud of this young team of people and positive atmosphere they made as well as the tremendous effort they put it to make this event a true fashion celebration offering a mixture of young, established, foreign and domestic fashion shows which was equally pleasing for fashion fanatics and fashion curious spectators.
This post I am dedicating to young and extremely talented team of two Adela Kliškić i Nikola Barbir who just recently won an award on another event dedicated to fashion design students. Their couture collection soaked in champaign color was homage to the work of great couturists like late McQueen and always fabulous Jean Paul Gaultier. I am really looking forward to following the future collections of these two talented kids.
As my friend Louis de Gama said during our conversation on after party Friday night, who was also a member of the jury who awarded these two with the award "These kids are extremely talented, they just need some guidance as they develope, hopefully someone will invest in their talent locally as otherwise they will just move to London and look for the opportunities there."
I agreed, and added that I hope that they will also learn how to price their garments and compete in this extremely competitive industry which in Croatia is not really well organized yet and not real profitable.
Another talented young duo who did a dark collection inspired by birds were Ana Fucijaš i Marija Koštić who's maticuous detailing and dramatic appeal impressed the audience.
These kids created a positive vibe showing us all that there is indeed fashion talent in Croatia. Lets nurture it, invest in it and let these kids grow and develop into next Croatian fashion sensations!
“What we do have in London is a fantastic pool of talent coming through the colleges.
We are the fashion world's incubator.”

When somebody saids fashion week, which words come to your mind first?
If you asked me this question two years ago while I was still living in NYC I would say something like:
double skinny Starbucks pepermint latte breakfast - Showroom Seven - get jewelry samples - run to Anna Sui - red bull lunch - blistered feet - can't catch a damn cab - pick up show shoes - run to Bryant Park for AM shows - rush to Rugby RL (no wait its my day off) - run to Universal Display to merchandise the collection - back to Showroom Seven's closet - go home to change for PM shows - afterparties -go home to change for work - get tripple Starbucks pepermint latte breakfast - am work at Rugby RL - repeat all
Today, day after Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb it is more like:
Jacobs instant coffee in my new Starbucks plastic thermo breakfast (0.5L) - get to gym before 9am - run to P&G office - get roll ups & promo products to a rent -a-car - call and coordinate PR agencies - set and coordinate promo areas on spot - follow up on media partners - squeez in all regular day work in 2hr time slot - change and beautify for the event - pick up Hungarian collegues - network with customer partners, consumers and designers - after party - am work - repeat all
So now I decided to implement some changes and actually sleep every night during Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb, at least couple of hours a night ;)
Stay tuned as I will write daily updates on most interesting shows!
Sleep tight divas! :)
Xoxo,
Lady like look inspired by late Alex McQueen featuring a jacket, wool dress and a clutch from his last collection. Bellow are some more of my pics for upcoming winter and holiday season for all of you fabulous fashionistas! Get inspired! :)
I adore: Alexander McQueen Wool Kimono Capes!
Gorgeous jackets which will definitely pick up compliments are: WUNDERKIND red cashmere/silk fur collar coat and Burberry Prorsum Shearling and wool jacket.
Spice up a work day by wearing: Moschino Cheap and Chic Silk printed blouse and Camel wool wrap around scarf skirt from Etro.
For Sunday coffee I suggest a casual look: Markus Lupfer Sunday Best merino wool sweater and Flannel Belted Bloomer Shorts.
I apsolutely love, love the sequin pants, the wilder the better :) My favorite look is to wear them with see through silk tunic blause.
Above you can see: Balmain Silk bow-front blouse and Stella McCartney Sequin leopard pants,
while bellow are:
Isabel Marant Folco sequin-embellished leggings and Chloé Pleated silk blouse.
Since the holidays are near, make sure to find an inspiration for a holiday dress which will definitely make an appearance, like bellow:
D&G Tiered silk halterneck gown, Alexander McQueen Wool-crepe gown or Notte by Marchesa Ruffle-embellished silk-crepe gown or go short with Agent Provocateur's Zelma satin contour dress.
What do you think divas? What is your staple piece of the season? :)
"I like being a woman, even in a man's world. After all, men can't wear dresses, but we can wear the pants. "

Recent Gala Style editorial photo shoot in an grocery store we did as one of my work projects reminded me on how classic chic 60's style outfits, red lipstics and a classic updo can make an old movies kind of diva out of an "average" looking women, more so, nine month pregnant women.
Further, this made me think about the power of red color and what it does to a women.
It gives us an instant sexy feel, evokes our cat like moves and brings out the sensuality in the way we move.
Wearing those high leopard print heels, short and tight or long and floaty red dress by fashion virtuoso like Valentino and a Chanel lipstic automatically pushes our chest and our butt out, our shoulders backs with a shinny purse hanging of the thin chain and pout our lips in a seductive manner - its almost an animal instinct.
Meowww you go ladies! Just keep your claws in please! ;)
This year dear to pick something red for holidays! You will surely have stories to tell!
Be daring, be different!
"I had on a beautiful red dress, but what I saw was even more valuable.
I was strong. I was pure. I had genuine thoughts inside that no one could see, that no one could ever take away from me.
I was like the wind. "

Why don't you stay...just another day?
There was one thing, I forgot to say,
but wasn't sure if I may,
and I just couldn't find a way.
There was one thing,
I wanted to do,
to follow the feeling
between me and you.
I wanted to do it, but I didn't dare,
I just wanted to ask you, weather you care.
Now when I know that you do,
and this is something you may want to persue.
I feel less blue cause you gave me a clue.
Take the charge, write a song,
Shake it at a party all night long.
Always work hard,
But know how to love
and when to put down your guard.
Tell the truth, speak no lie,
Be real strong, never cry.
Take a risk and keep your speech brisk.
Always be proud and stand out in a crowd.
Know your worth and speak the truth.
Show me you care and change your life if you dare.
Do it soon, shoot for the moon.
Life is to short to just play the sport,
don't spend most of your life in a lie on an airport.
Invest some in love, currency is heart.
We both have feelings, thats a good start.
Tell me you'll do it, say it or leave,
You know that I care, but I am not that naive.
If you don't show it soon, I will give up and leave,
It takes two to tango, I need to know that you believe.
Tango
