The Wandering collective
My designer friends David Wyatt and Gianluca Soldi from The Wandering Collective invited me to attend their Spring/Summer 15' collection promotion at luxurious Aline Boutique in Barcelona.
Aline Boutique is a fairly new shopping destination in Barcelona located in a very center of the Gaudi's city at Provenca 306. The boutique owner Aline is originally from Brazil but she lives in Barcelona for a while now and has inherited the love for fashion from her mother who was also a fashion store owner back in Brazil.
Aline boutique carries brands like: David Wyatt, Gianluca Soldi, Madma Carena, Elisabetta Franchi, Federica Cui, Justicia Ruano, Schultz, Paola Frani, Ella Luna, Tete by Odette etc.
At Aline boutique you can find a variety of great quality fashion pieces ranging from Gianluca's shoes made in Italy to David's silk pieces made locally in Barcelona as well as romantic floral dresses and gowns by well known Spanish and Italian designers like Justicia Ruano or Elisabetta Franchi.
For the event I was wearing David Wyatt's maxi silk 'egg print' dress and Gianluca Soldi's black velvet lace up heels along with my yellow Zara clutch.

First time I met The Gianluca and David was sometimes last Summer in my Trendcy buyer role when I was recruiting them to become one of Trendcy's designers. Soon after we went on our first adventure to Croatia as they were invited to show their SS 15' collection on Zagreb Fashion Week.
We all live in Barcelona and although they often travel for work to Milan we still got to see each other often and brainstorm on how to further market and sell their designs. Gianluca designs fabulous handmade Italian shoes and David designs clothing, they first met a while back when they were working together for Dolce & Gabanna in Italy. The third designer from their collective is Valentina Brugnatelli who designs jewelry and who also worked with them for other fashion houses back in Italy.
THE WANDERING COLLECTIVE STORY
Before launching their own name brands all three designers had years to perfect their craft while working for major fashion houses such as: Bally, Kenzo, Monclear, D&G, Zuhair Murad and Versace just to name the few.
The idea for The Wandering Collective concept came during womenswear show fitting in Paris where all three designers were working as freelancers combining Valentina's costume jewelry, Gianluca's shoes and David's ready to wear clothing designs in one complete look. An immediate camaraderie is born out of a shared sense of style, of glamour and fun with a communal desire to express it.
Gianluca moved to Barcelona first and then David came to stay couple of years later. Valentina moved to Switzerland with her boyfriend but they all three continued to work together on common inspiration for their upcoming collections during their meetings in Milan where Gianluca and Valentina have production while David produces his RTW clothing in Barcelona.
Their lines can be purchased and are marketed seperately as well in numerous boutiques and luxury department houses around the world but just when the full look comes together, magic happens and true The Wandering Collective Women comes to life. Gianluca's shoes and David's RTW clothing collection can be purchased online on www.trendcy.com.
The Wandering Collective look celebrates the creativity and individuality of the three founders whilst coming together in thematic harmony.
Not only do designers carefully choose luxurious fabrics and follow their own unique artistic standards but they also design their own custom prints which results in trully unique pieces which you will be able to wear for years to come and which will never go out of style!
Launching own brand came with liberating creative freedom but also with major capacity and resources restrains said David which they are just now realizing as they simultaniously continue to design for other brands as freelancers but also build The Wandering Collective brand. "I have to think twice when ordering fabrics and be careful of how well I am going to utilize it." - said David.
When asked who is looking for inpiration in whom Gianluca laughed as he said it doesn't always run smoothly in terms of direction but their chemistry in the team, respect and never-ending flow of creativity allows them to democratically decide on direction in which collection will go.
THE BIRTH OF LIMITED EDITION LAKATWALK ŽENSKI ROKOVNIK
During one of our brainstorming meetings I mention to the guys (who are by the way AMAZING illustrators as well) that I am offered by my fab friend Dunja to design limited edition women's planner Ženski Rokovnik cover and they generously offered to help me with their illustration's of me wearing their favorite items they designed: beautiful maxi dress with custom print and Gianluca's fabulous and comfortable platform sandals, which are my third pair of his shoes (and counting).

Last week on Thursday November 6th we ( Trendcy.com team) organized our second Sample Sale for designer trio - The Wandering Collective. As I wrote earlier this year I made a big career change and from working in global corporation Procter& Gamble for years I entered a fashion startup adventure, I became a part owner, buyer and curator of online fashion boutique site www.trendcy.com.
Trendcy sells mens and womens designer clothing, shoes and jewelry by hand-picked designers from all over the world. These designers are already well known in their local markets and we as Trendcy team provide them with global sales and marketing and PR services to grow their brand internationally.

This weekend (19th & 20th July) and next weekend (26th & 27th July) in my capacity as Trendcy curator and buyer I helped organize Sample Sale and Pop-Up Shop for selected Trendcy designers among which are young and talented designers like Kralj & Krajina from Zagreb and Vjera Vilicnik from London but also established designers like Kate Almighty and Hippy Garden from Croatia and The Wandering Collective from Spain.
I am in love with Vjera Vilićnik's gorgeous lace tops and silk dresses with couture embroidery! Check out this wonderful floral dress I tried (one more left UK size 10 so send message to Trendcy if you want to grab the last pair).
Another personal favorite are definitely Kralj & Krajina Fall/Winter 14'. collection dresses, turtlenecks and vests! They are super warm and comfortable (and short but I love it) with military details on the shoulders and all in white, nude and camel. I think they go perfectly with Valentina Brugnatelli's amazing costume jewelry!
Shop Kralj & Krajina's Fall/Winter 14' collection here.
One of the most popular items on Sample Sale here in Dubrovnik was most definitely dresses by Kate Almighty who designed wonderful cotton dresses with low cut back with lace details.
Not only these are super comfortable and can be worn with or without a bra but you can wear them belted and as a dress in Summer and tunic in Fall and Winter, on top, they are super affordable, this blue one is only 40 Euro or 300 HRK.
Join Trendcy Sample Sale and shop designer items on discounted prices via e-mail or if close to Dubrovnik visit us at Sebastian art gallery.
Yesterday after an exhausting work day I had a pleasure to be the first visitor of newly opened The Wandering Collective showroom, here in beautiful Barcelona.
Shoes are designed by Gianluca Soldi, clothing by David Wyatt and wonderful costume jewelry by Valentina Brugnatelli.
The trio came together a year after working together backstage at Paris fashion show fitting, to work on the looks combining the elements of shoes and costume jewelry with the ready-to-wear, while each bringing their own unique style, personality and expertise to shape a unified collection of complete head-to-toe looks, designer trio united vision.
"This is how The Wandering Collective was born, a total look that celebrates the creativity and individuality of the three founders whilst coming together in thematic harmony."
